The Sacred Nest provides services for carers and their families who are looking for connection and support that meets their unique needs. Our goal is to empower you to implement lifestyle changes that can improve your health and wellbeing, build resilience and prevent carer fatigue. We do this through providing educational workshops on a variety of lifestyle medicine topics that are important to longevity and mental wellbeing.

We focus on self-care through an understanding of the Vagus Nerve and its important role in managing chronic stress. This nerve connects to many organs in the body, including the digestive system. Food quality has been shown to influence mood through this connection, as well as sensory information from the environment and from other people. Coregulation is an important part of caring for others, which is a concept that is new to many carers and critical to the work that we do.

Take a look at our 2 main programs…

Replenished for Care

Wellbeing Program for Carers

We understand the demands that caring brings, whether it be as a unpaid carer to family members with additional needs, elderly parents or regular parenting. Or perhaps you are a paid carer who is tired and burnt out. Replenished for Care is a carer wellbeing program that provides valuable education, support and an opportunity to connect with other carers who value health and wellbeing for themselves and their loved ones.

Nourishing Nests

Food & Mood Workshops

We are passionate about food and the impact that it has on developing minds and throughout the whole of life. Through our Nourishing Nests workshops, the latest research in the growing field of ‘nutritional psychiatry’ is translated and presented to carers. Often termed ‘food and mood’, this research encompasses gut health and the links between food quality, eating patterns and mental health. Our goal is to support carers to make informed choices to firstly nourish themselves for more energy and resilience, which naturally leads to greater capacity to nourish those they care for.

What kind of Carer are you?

Carers come in many forms…. so much so that some people don’t even realise that they are carers!

You may be caring for a family member with a disability, an elderly parent or a partner with a medical condition. Or perhaps you provide support for someone with a mental health condition or addiction of some kind. Some carers are paid as part of their work, whilst many others are not. Whatever your caring role is, the mental, emotional and sometimes physical stress can have the same burden on your health.

Unpaid Carers

Caring in the Home

We understand the demands that caring brings, whether it be as a unpaid carer to family members with additional needs, elderly parents or regular parenting. Or perhaps you are a paid carer who is tired and burnt out. Replenished for Care is a carer wellbeing program that provides valuable education, support and an opportunity to connect with other carers who value health and wellbeing for themselves and their loved ones.
